Softening of wrinkles with a natural result

Botox

Botox (botulinum toxin) is a safe and widely used treatment within medical-cosmetic care. It temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for wrinkle formation or certain medical complaints. This creates a fresher, softer appearance or relief of symptoms, without losing natural facial expression.

Cosmetic botox treatments

Cosmetic botox is used to soften wrinkles and balance facial expression. By temporarily relaxing muscles, it creates a fresher appearance while preserving natural facial expressions. Common treatments include:

Frown lines

Reduces the vertical lines between the eyebrows and gives the face a more relaxed and friendly look.

Eyebrow lift

By subtly relaxing certain muscles, the eyebrows are slightly lifted, giving a more open, fresh eye look without surgery.

Forehead

Softens horizontal forehead wrinkles while preserving natural expression.

Crow's feet

Fine lines around the eyes are reduced, giving a fresh and rested look.

Hanging corners of the mouth

Botox can subtly lift the corners of the mouth, making the face look less gloomy.

Chin

For an orange peel texture or restless chin muscle, botox can provide a smoother and calmer effect.

Smoking lines

Fine lines around the mouth are softened for a smoother appearance.

Lip-flip

A subtle treatment where the upper lip tilts slightly outwards, giving a fuller appearance without the use of fillers.

Medical botox treatments

Besides cosmetic applications, botox is also used for various medical complaints. Through targeted muscle relaxation, botox can help reduce tension and overactivity. Examples of medical applications include:

Migraine

Botox can help chronic migraine by reducing muscle tension and stimulus transmission, leading to fewer and less severe migraine attacks. Headaches in particular will decrease and be less severe. People with auras will still be bothered by this, however, by having fewer headaches afterwards, you bring back a great deal of quality.

Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

Botox temporarily blocks the nerve impulses to the sweat glands, greatly reducing excessive sweating, for example in the armpits, hands or feet. The effect lasts for 6-10 months on average.

Teeth grinding and jaw clenching (bruxism)

By relaxing the chewing muscles, botox reduces jaw tension, headaches and tooth wear.

Gummy smile

Botox can be used to reduce the excessive appearance of the gums when smiling by relaxing the muscles involved, resulting in a more balanced smile.

Recovery after botox treatment

After botox treatment, recovery is usually quick and mild. Immediately after treatment, slight redness, swelling or a small blue spot may appear at the injection sites. These side effects are temporary and usually disappear within a few hours to a few days.

Frequently asked questions

Botox is a brand name for botulinum toxin, a protein that temporarily reduces the action of specific muscles. This causes muscles responsible for wrinkles or certain medical complaints to relax. The result is a softer appearance or relief of symptoms, while preserving natural facial expressions.

The first effects are usually visible after 3 to 5 days. The final result is usually visible after about 10 to 14 days. On average, the effect of a botox treatment lasts for 3 to 4 months, depending on the area treated and personal factors.

Most clients experience only a slight sting, similar to a small injection. Because very thin needles are used, the treatment is generally well tolerated and quick to perform.

Immediately after treatment, small redness or slight swelling may occur at the injection sites. This is normal and usually disappears within a few hours to days. Any small bruising is rare and temporary.

Before treatment, it is wise to limit alcohol consumption and blood-thinning drugs (if possible) to reduce the risk of bruising. After treatment, we recommend not massaging the treated area, not lying flat for the first few hours and temporarily avoiding intense exercise, sauna and tanning beds.

As a precaution, botox treatment is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Although there is little evidence of risk, safety is always paramount and treatment is not performed during this period.

Botox relaxes muscles to soften wrinkles caused by movement (such as frown lines). Fillers, on the other hand, add volume or restore contours to the face. Both treatments serve different purposes and can sometimes be combined for optimal results.

In hyperhidrosis, botox temporarily blocks nerve impulses to the sweat glands. As a result, these produce less sweat, leading to a marked reduction in excessive sweating. The effect lasts for 6 to 10 months on average.
